As a member of the Iranian American community, I hereby sign my name to this petition in order to voice my strong support for the initiatives currently in front of the U.S. Congress, namely HR282 and S333 (Iran Freedom Support Act)

 To me and to tens of millions of others in Iran and around the globe, who are constantly paying the heavy toll of confronting the tyrannies that rule their homelands, this was yet another reminder that the freedom loving people of the world have no better friend than the United States of America.

 It is with the utmost respect and complete joy that we congratulate you on your great victory in these elections.

 The tyrannical regime in Iran and its sympathizers in the U.S. are still attempting to mislead the U.S. government and its elected officials by claiming that support for the so-called 'reformist' movement will ultimately bring freedom and democracy to Iran.

 We are appealing to you on behalf of the pro-democracy movement and millions of ordinary citizens suffering under the clerical leadership in Iran. Surely, your government must be aware of the restlessness and countless acts of civil disobedience taking place in Iran on a daily basis.

 I demand that the system of governance of the Islamic Republic of Iran be replaced with a democratic system based on separation of Religion and State.

 We, the people of Iran, and the Iranian American community in California in particular, would like to urge you and other members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to support the new amendment for establishment of Iran Democracy Foundation. This amendment, proposed to your committee by Senator Sam Brownback, will be another milestone in the support of the American nation for our struggle for freedom, democracy and the rule of law in Iran.

 We, the people of Iran, would like to express our deepest gratitude to you, the Congress of the United States, and the great people of the United States, for supporting our struggle for freedom, democracy and the rule of law in Iran.

 The people of Iran are now in the beginning phases of a full fledge movement to regain their freedom and rights. They have come to the conclusion that the only way they can achieve this, is by ridding themselves of the Islamic regime, which has been imposing its will upon them for more than a generation.

 The people of Iran have followed your State of the Union address with great enthusiasm and they heard your call.

 The tyrannical regime in Iran and its sympathizers around the world are still attempting to mislead the international community by claiming that support for the so-called ‘reformist’ movement will ultimately bring freedom and democracy to Iran.

 We, the people of Iran, wish to extend our most profound sympathy to the people of the United States in their time of great sorrow commemorating the senseless and savage terrorist acts of September 11, 2001. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with you.

 We, the people of Iran, would like to express our deepest gratitude to you, the Congress of the United States, and the great people of the United States, for supporting our struggle for freedom, democracy and the rule of law in Iran.

 For more than twenty-three years, the people of Iran have made every imaginable sacrifice and suffered every possible injustice in the hope of creating a better future for themselves, their children and their homeland. They have now come to the conclusion that the tyrannical regime which rules over them is unwilling to and incapable of providing them even with their most basic needs, or granting them their most basic rights as human beings.
