Dear Prime Minister Tony Blair,  

The people of Iran are now in the beginning phases of a full fledge movement to regain their freedom and rights. They have come to the conclusion that the only way they can achieve this, is by ridding themselves of the Islamic regime, which has been imposing its will upon them for more than a generation. Large and ever increasing segments of society are now demanding change and are taking the risk of confronting tyranny on the streets. What started as a small-scale student unrest is now snowballing into a movement joined by teachers, workers, women, youth and people from all walks of life who just don't have anymore to give and are fed up.

It is now time for the United Kingdom to decide where it wants to stand in this equation. The people of Iran are kind and forgiving, but only to a point. They have a long memory of friend and foe. Their actions inside Iran clearly show that they have crossed the threshold of patience and they are tired of being taken advantage of.

Any further British support for the un-elected regime in Tehran, be it commercial, economical, diplomatic—such as helping to remove the IRI from the list of human rights violators in the face of internal tyranny and external terror—or even moral support, prolongs the suffering of the people of Iran, the very people who would have to be answered to in the not too distant future.

Dear Prime Minister,
The United Kingdom needs to decide whether it wants to stand with the people of Iran or with those who are suffocating them. We hope that you, as the representative of one of the oldest democratic states, will join President George W. Bush in supporting the aspiration of the Iranian people for establishment of a democratic system in Iran.

Therefore, by signing my name to this petition:

1-    I join in demanding that your government stop all forms of support to the dictatorship of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and use its influence to help the PEOPLE of Iran achieve the freedom and democracy that they so deserve.

2-    I further join in declaring that: as the current regime in Iran is NOT REPRESENTATIVE of its people, any commercial contract, diplomatic or other agreements signed by it are not binding upon the people of Iran and they are void able by Iran's future democratically elected government.
